Cong. rotates leaders between Munugode, yatra

The Congress is also trying to cash in on women’s sentiment by taking up alcohol addiction as a major poll issue

Hyderabad: The Congress is employing a delicate balancing act of rotating its leaders between the campaign for the Munugode bypoll and the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which is a key focus for the Pradesh Congress Committee.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, AICC secretary Rohit Chaudhary, who is camping in Munugode, said, “Even though the campaign is mostly not disturbed, given the fact most of the teams remained active, the top leaders will continue to visit their designated constituencies. We have adopted a rotation method to ensure senior leaders are seen here at Munugode. Today, Hanumantha Rao visited, tomorrow, another top leader, say Uttam Kumar later, will visit.”

The Congress is also trying to cash in on women’s sentiment by taking up alcohol addiction as a major poll issue.

“We are getting good responses from female voters. Women are voluntarily approaching us to resolve the menace of liquor addiction, as their men have turned slaves to it. They are fed up as teenagers are falling prey to this menace and impacting entire families. Now, they just want assurance to resolve this matter unconditionally,” Chaudhary said.
