Vijayawada: State BJP chief Somu Veerraju alleged that several Central schemes were failing to reach the targeted communities in Andhra Pradesh.

The BJP senior leader said in Guntur on Tuesday that the Centre was trying to develop AP with Rs 10 lakh crore funds besides sanctioning Rs 50,000 crore for development of schools including infrastructure, new buildings but Jagan Mohan Reddy is putting his stamp under Nadu-Nadu programme.

He expressed concern that several welfare schemes meant for the poor were failing to reach them and said that the YSRC government is not able to govern the state properly.

Alleging that AP was facing shortage of sand, the BJP state president said that such phenomenon was resulting in construction workers lacking employment and losing their only source of livelihood.

Maintaining that nearly 50 lakh construction workers exist in AP, he asked them to enrol in e-Shram portal and said that the Centre had set up a board especially for the welfare of construction workers.

He said that land, sand, rice, liquor and mining mafias rule the roost in the state. He alleged that corruption is high in the civil supplies department.

On development of capital city Amaravati, the BJP leader said the Centre had given Rs 6,500 crore during the TD regime under N. Chandrababu Naidu and the latter should provide details for what purpose those funds were spent.

He blamed Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for playing a mind game by raising the issue of three capitals. He alleged that both the TD and YSRC governments were involved in graft and said only Prime Minister Narendra Modi could develop the state and the country.
