VIJAYAWADA: Bharatiya Janata Party MP G.V.L. Narasimha Rao slammed Chief Ministers Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of Andhra Pradesh and K. Chandrashekar Rao of Telangana for failing to resolve bilateral issues through amicable discussion.

Speaking with media persons on Wednesday, Narasimha Rao did not spare former AP chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu either, claiming that there was a lack of initiative on the part of both Naidu and Reddy to meet the Telangana CM.

He questioned the Andhra Pradesh CM for failing to take any action despite the state “being subjected to a lot of injustice in the aftermath of the bifurcation.” He called on the YSR Congress to “set aside its selfish interests” and resolve the issues at the earliest.

Narasimha Rao bemoaned that the issue continued to drag on despite the Centre organising 29 meetings between the two Telugu states since 2014 for the purpose.

He also said that he would speak to the Railway Board chairman to clarify the issue of a railway zone for Andhra Pradesh, which was previously approved by the Union Cabinet.
