THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said the Pala verdict will plunge the UDF into further crisis. The CPM state secretary said the defeat will sharpen the internal struggle in the Kerala Congress and weaken the UDF.

Mr Balakrishnan claimed that the ruling front had succeeded in getting back the votes it lost in the last Lok Sabha polls. He had a word of advise for the LDF workers. "The verdict has brought more responsibility on the LDF workers. Be more humble while working among people.

The verdict is an opportunity given by people to the ruling front. It should be used to attain more support from the people and the workers should work towards this objective. There should be no ill feeling towards those who voted against us or campaigned against us.

Attempts should be made to bring people from the opposite camp towards our side," he added. Mr Balakrishnan said the base of LDF in Kerala is intact.
