L Ganesan gets Rajya Sabha MP berth
Chennai: The BJP’s senior and party national executive member L. Ganesan, who is popularly known as LG has been nominated to the lone seat of Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh, which fell vacant following the elevation of party senior Najma Heptullah as governor of Manipur.
Mr. Ganesan, formerly chief of Tamil Nadu unit, had served the saffron party in various capacities and also been its national vice president. Once a RSS pracharak, Mr. Ganesan has been in the party for decades. This is the first time he would become a member of Rajya Sabha.
BJP national President Amit Shah announced his name as the BJP candidate for the bye-election 2016 to Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. Union Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan and party’s national general secretary P. Muralidhar Rao congratulated him.
