Dr G Parameshwar sounds bugle for Karnataka Assembly polls
Bengaluru: In a determined effort to return to power in 2018, leaders of the executive committee of pradesh Congress committee on Tuesday decided to launch a series of programmes to galvanise party workers beginning October 2.
As part of a year-and-half sustained campaign, the ruling Congress also decided to launch state-wide campaign in the form of padayatras by various leaders. In line with this decision, the leaders would set out on — Congress Nadige Surajyada Kadege (Congress’ walk towards a trouble free, stable and smooth administration)—to highlight the number of promises listed in the manifesto, and ones implemented so far.
KPCC president, Dr G. Parameshwar, told the media here: “We had planned several programmes last month itself, but we have added another programme to this list— is that Congress Nadige Surajyada Kadege (Congress Walk towards Trouble Free, Stable and Smooth Administration) — to highlight achievements of the state government.
On October 2, we will launch — Congress Nadige Gramaswarajaya da Kadege — which will highlight schemes that have benefited the rural population. On November 19 (late PM Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary), we will launch another padayatra to highlight our party’s contribution. Of late, many have started questioning the party’s contribution. Therefore, we need to remind voters about it.” Dr Parameshwar declared that the Congress would contest 2018 Assembly elections under a collective leadership.
