Visakhapatnam will be the capital city, asserts Botsa

He made it clear that the new property tax policy will not burden the people

KAKINADA: Municipal administration minister Botsa Satyanarayana made it clear that the state government is determined to shift the executive capital to Visakhapatnam, after overcoming all technical hurdles in courts. He made it clear that the new property tax policy will not burden the people. Participating in several programmes at Rajamahendravaram on Friday, he said that the opposition parties and those like former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and N. Lokesh were trying to create hurdles for every development programme and welfare schemes mooted for the poor.

He said that crop compensation is being paid to tenant farmers in Amaravati regularly. He said that 16,000 people would be given houses in Rajamahendravaram. It was because of legal hurdles that distribution of housesites has been stopped, although 6,000 houses have already been allotted to the beneficiaries. He said that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was going all-out for the welfare of the poor. He said that Rajamahendravaram would witness all-round development, including an outer ring road (ORR).

He said that the people can question the government if property tax is increased to more than 15 per cent after the new property tax policy comes in.

Later, he and TTD Board chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy, ministers K. Kannababu, P. Viswaroop, and Ch.Venugopala Krishna, Rajamahendrvaram MP M. Bharat and others inaugurated several development works, taken up at a cost of `15.25 crore, including a dry-waste collection centre, a protected drinking water plant and community halls.
