Jagadish Shettar, K S Eshwarappa should have spurned berths: Dinesh Gundurao
Bengaluru: Lashing out at the BJP and its leaders, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, Dinesh Gundurao on Tuesday mocked at former chief minister, Jagadish Shettar and former deputy chief ministers K. S. Eshwarappa and R. Ashok saying if they had any self-respect, they should not have accepted the minister’s post.
Speaking to reporters here, Mr Rao declared that the situation in the state BJP and state government is grave as discontent among BJP leaders is at its peak with juniors and losers in the party getting promoted while winners and seniors have been demoted. “Mr Laxman Savadi who is not even a legislator is made Dy CM, everyone is aware of his credentials to get such a coveted post,” he quipped indirectly referring to Mr Savadi’s alleged involvement in the episode in which some legislators were caught watching porn while participating in the legislature session.
Training his guns on state BJP leaders, the KPCC president observed that none from the state had the guts to speak out because the Karnataka BJP’s affairs are being run from Delhi. “Even Mr Yediyurappa can't speak about anything and only acts on the diktats from Delhi. This is not democracy,” he chided.
He also noted that the Congress party had warned that the BJP government would face a big hurdle during portfolio allocation. “The dissidence has exceeded all expectations. This government is worse than the one-man show of Mr Yediyurappa. People are protesting against this government, the ministers are unhappy,” he contended and added that earlier there was one team of rebels and now, the BJP has two teams of rebels.
