BJP wary of Vellapally Natesan's overtures to CPM
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan has been warming up to the LDF government in an apparent bid to wriggle out of the micro-finance scam. The BJP has been wary of his moves as its national president Amit Shah had planned to bring all Hindu organisations in the state under one umbrella. Mr Natesan has been heaping praise on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to the discomfiture of the BJP state leadership.
Mr Vellapally is aggrieved that the BJP had done nothing to help him though he was trapped in a dozen cases. However, the Bharat Dharma Jana Sena floated by Mr Vellapally has been keeping close contact with Mr Amit Shah seeking its representation in various boards and corporations. Mr Vellapally is hurt that the BJP has ignored him after meeting its agenda of getting 10.5 percent vote share in the Assembly elections.
But BJP leaders like former president P. K. Krishnadas and general secretary M.T. Ramesh have denied this. A BJP leader told DC that Mr Vellapally has targeting Mr V. S.Achuthanandan by cosying up to Mr Pinarayi. “He is trying to use Pinarayi for his interests by targeting Achuthanandan. But Pinarayi will not fall into the trap laid by Vellapally,” he said.
