If Jagan can’t, I will complete R&R Package: Chandrababu
KAKINADA: Former chief minister and Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu lashed out at Chief Minister Jagan Reddy on the issue of rehabilitation and resettlement package to the Polavaram Project Displaced Families.
“Jagan has given up on Polavaram Project and its R&R Package issues. Going by his statement, he can’t fulfill R&R package promise, unless the central government sanctions `20,000 crore. “Let the 22 YSRC MPs resign to apply pressure on the Centre. Still if Jagan can’t do it, I will do it and do justice to the PDFs,’’ said Naidu.
He toured in Velerupadu, Sivkasipuram, Bandlabore and other villages in Velerupadu mandal, Dacharam, Kukunuru, Cheerapalli, Banderagudem, Vinjaram, Banjaragudem, Amaravaram Yeleru and other villages in Kukunuru mandal of Eluru district on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering at Kukunuru, Sivakasipuram, Velerupadu and Bandlabore villages, Naidu said if all the YSRC MPs submitted their resignations, the Centre would come down and grant the entire amount for Polavaram project including the rehabilitation package.
He also said that he would name the Polavaram submerged mandals after a separate Polavaram district, as a symbol of sacrifices of the people of these villages. Polavaram is a lifeline to Andhra Pradesh, he said.
Naidu said that help was not reaching the flood victims and the chief minister is totally indifferent to their plight. While the flood affected people are struggling on the ground, Jagan is so heartless that he conducts on aerial survey and goes back to Tadepalli palace and sleeps there, doing nothing, he alleged.
He repeatedly asked the people, whether they had received essential commodities and relief had reached them. They replied in the negative.
Naidu said that when Hudhud cyclone occurred, he made amendments in a GO, stressing that every affected family should be supplied 25 kilos of rice, 2 kilos of dal, one kilo of palm oil, two kilos of onions and Rs 50,000 per damaged house. But, now Jagan’s government supplied four tomatoes, four onions and Rs 2000 as financial assistance.
The former MLA of Denduluru Chintamaneni Prabhakar, Eluru district president Ganni Veeranjaneyulu and others were present.
