Dr G Parameshwar: No chance of any snap poll

The coalition government has chalked out a number of schemes and was working to fulfill them.

Bengaluru: Days after JD(S) supremo H.D. Deve Gowda hinted at mid-term polls to the state Assembly because of the instability in the Congress-JD(S) coalition, Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwar ruled out any such possibility.

Talking to reporters on Friday, he said the statements made by a few individuals on the possibility of a snap poll, was their individual opinion. The coalition government has chalked out a number of schemes and was working to fulfill them, he said.

He also lashed out at the BJP criticism of the CM's Grama Vastavya trip and said they should have opposed it in Vidhana Soudha or in their party office instead of taking out a padayatra during the village stay programme. Even Mahatma Gandhi had conducted Grama Vastavya, he recalled.

Replying to a question, the Deputy CM said he was involved in a Jana Spandana programme before the LS elections and added that there are plans to hold it in Bengaluru city on June 29.
