No threat to govt: Dr G Parameshwar

Dr Parameshwar said, north Karnataka was not ignored by the government.

Ballari: Despite the rumblings of discontent in the Congress threatening the coalition government, deputy Chief Minister, Dr G Parameshwar asserted here on Wednesday that it would complete its five year term.

“Both the Congress and JD(S) have arrived at an understanding to run this coalition government for a full five year tenure,” he told reporters in Koppal , adding that Congress president, Rahul Gandhi had instructed the KPCC to ensure stability for the JD(S)-Congress coalition government and allow it to complete its five year tenure.

Asked about former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressing his doubts over the longevity of the coalition government, Dr Parameshwar said as president of the KPCC he was declaring that all talk of destabilising the coalition government was baseless.

“The Congress party has no issues with the loan waiver expected to be announced in the budget and has already extended its support for it,” he said.
Responding to a question, Dr Parameshwar said, north Karnataka was not ignored by the government.
