Hyderabad: Minister K.T. Rama Rao put out tweets on the messaging platform Twitter on the changing face of healthcare in the state, immediately drawing a response from MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday.
Mr Rao had tweeted contained pictures of the King Koti and Malaket government hospitals which are getting a makeover with state-of-the art facilities.
Responding to this, Mr Owaisi said the Osmania General Hospital needed a paediatric unit. Most hospitals in the old city needed to be upgraded to help the poor.
Mr Rama Rao replied saying it had already been done. If not, it would be personally taken up with health minister Dr C. Laxma Reddy.
Asked about the tweets, an official in the health minister’s office said, “We are trying to do what we can. We are formulating plans for the Osmania Hospital but as it is a big project it will take time.”
