Volunteer system established to provide welfare schemes to all: Srinivasa

VIJAYAWADA: Ex-minister Velampalli Srinivasa Rao said that the volunteer system was established to provide welfare schemes to all, and volunteers were Jagananna’s brainchild. He presented Seva Mitra, Seva Ratna, and Seva Vajra awards during the volunteer felicitation ceremony held on Saturday for the ward volunteers who are serving in ward secretariats of the 46, 47, 48, 49, and 50 divisions in Vijayawada.

MLA Srinivasa Rao felicitated ward volunteers with shawls and certificates of appreciation. On this occasion, Velampalli said that he was happy to give these awards for the last three years. He said that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was working for the welfare of all and introduced volunteers to render services to the public at their doorsteps, adding the CM was providing schemes beyond politics. He said, “Jagan Mohan Reddy is a person who does good for the poor.” He said that all opposition parties were criticising the volunteer system in the wrong way and doing evil politics. He said that we were respecting the volunteer system and giving recognition to it.

Srinivasa Rao said that CPM, CPI, BJP, Jana Sena, and TD were unable to face Jagan, hence they were uniting to defeat YSRC, but these efforts would not be successful as Andhra Pradesh’s people were supporting Jagan for welfare and development.

Vijayawada mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi, VMC corporators, officials, secretariat staff, and awardees participated in the programme.
