BC Garjana will be held in Suryapet: VHR

HYDERABAD: Stressing that the Congress’s BC Garjana will be held in Suryapet, senior party leader V. Hanumantha Rao said, “I will be meeting Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to personally invite him for the event. We should not forget that consolidation of BC support paved the way for our victory in the neighbouring state.”

The BJP, which waxes eloquent about having a BC prime minister, hasn’t done anything for the community which accounts for 54 per cent of the population. The BRS government which conducted a Samagra Kutumba Survey is yet to put data about caste composition in the public domain, Hanumantha Rao said.

“As of now there is no constitutional sanction for BC reservations. The seats, which remain unfilled by BC candidates, will automatically go to the upper castes. I will talk with the state PAC and the part high command and seek 40 per cent seats for BCs. I am saying this as the convener of OBC MPs forum,” the former MP said.

If the BRS government has performed well then why are they spending Rs 105 crore on the Tenth State Formation Day celebration, he asked.

“Everyone should hoist the National Flag on June 2. We will take up programmes for the next 20 days in which we will expose the failures of the state government”, he said.
