Etala receives Konda support

Ex-MP, Kodandaram say stay as MLA

HYDERABAD: Former MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) president Prof. Kodandaram met former minister Etala Rajendar at his residence in Shamirpet on Thursday. The two leaders checked with the former minister about rumours he might join the BJP and discussed the political situation.

Both leaders expressed their moral support to Rajendar who was recently removed from the state Cabinet by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. The leaders suggested to Rajendar to avoid taking future decisions in a hurry.

The former MP told Rajendar that if he resigned from the Assembly, it will send wrong signals to political circles. He must rather wait for the present inquiry over his land grab allegations to complete.

Sources said that the both leaders suggested to Rajendar to remain neutral for now so that he would be in a better position to expose the corruption of the present government before the public. They extended their support to him in the present scenario where the Chief Minister is seen to be targeting him.

After meeting Rajendar, both the leaders addressed the media. Prof. Kodandaram said the attack on Rajendar involved issues of self-respect and his party will also fight with the former minister if he continued to remain an independent.

He said the CM treats other leaders in the party as his slaves. “KCR is not in a mood to save democracy. Let us fight against his anti-democratic tendencies collectively,” Prof. Kodandaram said.

Vishweshwar Reddy alleged that Chandrashekar Rao attacked the Rajendar family in a rude manner. He asked the CM why he did not dare suspend Rajendar from the party. The former MP said Chandrashekar Rao does not have the guts to do so. Vishweshwar Reddy urged Rajendar to join hands with him and fight against Chandrashekhar Rao’s “dictatorial style”.
