Will expose graft in TRS govt once in power: Congress
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said should the Congress come to power in 2019, an enquiry will be ordered against “government corruption” and that nobody will be spared, including the family of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
Speaking to the media on Friday at Gandhi Bhavan, Reddy alleged that hundreds of acres of valuable land are being allotted to companies at cheaper rates, adding that while the debts of the people of Telangana are rising, the assets of the CM and his family are increasing, and the CM is travelling abroad in a private plane.
Reddy said the government, led by Telangana Rashtriya Samity (TRS), has allotted 15 acres of land at Madhapur to Hetero Drugs Company at a cheaper rate, and said the company was given Rs 40 crore as subsidy. Similarly, he alleged that the Wolf Son group of companies was allotted about 800 acres, and "crores of rupees" given as subsidy.
He said the company was allotted 150 acres and Rs 40 crore subsidy, while in another order, the same company was allotted 500 acres in Rangareddy district, and '80 crore subsidy at 10% of the capital. He said in addition, these companies are allowed interest subsidy, subsidy in power supply and 100 % GST subsidy, and asked who "the suitcases from these companies" were meant for.
The TPCC president also alleged that Industries Department principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan is cooperating with industries minister K.T.
Rama Rao in corrupt practices, and asked the government the reason for not replying to Congress MLA A. Revanth Reddy's allegations on the Metro trail to Shamshabad.
Cong confident of 80 seats
PCC President Mr. N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that under the prevalent circumstances in Telangana, the Congress party will win 80 assembly seats out of the total 119 seats. He said that they had been conducting surveys frequently and every survey showed that the Congress strength was incrementally increasing.
Speaking to the media on Friday at Gandhi Bhavan, he said that earlier they thought that Congress would sweep in southern Telangana only, but now the latest survey results showed that the Congress would sweep in northern Telangana also.
15 rooms, not 150, KCR tells Uttam Kumar
TRS chief and Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday termed TPCC chief N.Uttam Kumar Reddy "a liar".
Mr Rao dared Mr Reddy to visit Pragathi Bhavan along with media on Friday evening to prove his allegation that he had constructed 150 rooms in Pragathi Bhavan. He also offered to quit the CM’s post on the spot if Mr Reddy proves there are rooms more than 15.
Mr Rao asked Mr Reddy to be grateful to TRS which achieved Telangana State due to which he is heading Telangana PCC (TPCC) today. “If not for Telangana State, you would have still worked as a coolie under Seemandhra leaders. Because, Telangana State was achieved by TRS, you could become TPCC chief," Mr Rao remarked.
