Manik Sarkar, Sitaram Yechury finalise plans for campaign
Thiruvananthapuram: Top CPM national leaders are all set to storm the state from next week with party general secretary Sitaram Yechury and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar leading the LDF campaign.
Manik Sarkar will launch his three day campaign for LDF candidates from Thrissur on May 9. He will address meetings in support of LDF in Alappuzha on May 10.
On the last leg of his tour, the Tripura chief minister will address election meetings in Thiruvanathapuram district.
CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury will launch his campaign from Ernakulam on April 30 and move to Palakkad on May 1. In the second leg he will cover Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram on April 7 and 8 respectively. In the last leg he will address meetings in Kannur and Kozhikode.
Former general secretary Prakash Karat will hold two rounds of campaign covering Idukki on May Day, Kottayam and Alappuzha districts in the next two days.
During the second leg, he will address meetings in Pathanamthitta, Thrissur, Malappuram and Kasargod during his four day trip beginning from May 9.
Politburo Brinda Karat will have a six day campaign schedule without break. She will start from Wayanad on May 8 and conclude in Thiruvananthapuram on May 13. She will address meetings in Kannur, Kozhikode, Thrisur and Alappuzha.
Her counterpart in politburo Subhashini Ali will hit the campaign trail from May 3 in Kasargod and cover Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Thrissur Ernakulam, inluding in Alappuzha.
Jammu and Kashmir CPM state secretary and MLA Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami will address public meetings in Thiruvananthpuram, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur from April 6 to 10.
