Lucknow: Aparna Yadav, the second daughter-in-law of Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav, has entered politics and will be the party's candidate from a Lucknow Assembly seat next year.
Ms Aparna Yadav, 26, a social worker, is married to Prateek Yadav, the younger son of the SP president. She will be the ninth member from the family to join electoral politics.
Ms Aparna Yadav is the second female member of the Yadav clan to join active politics. Sister-in-law Dimple Yadav, wife of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, is a second term MP from Kannauj.
Apart from the SP supremo and Ms Dimple Yadav, his nephews Dharmendra Yadav, Akhshay Pratap and Tej Pratap are Lok Sabha members.
His brother Ramgopal Yadav is in Rajya Sabha, while Mr Akhilesh Yadav, the UP Chief Minister, is an MLC.
