K Chandrasekhar Rao helps aged man get disability pension, 2BHK

Rao immediately instructed Hyderabad collector Shwetha Mohanty to release disability pension to Mr Salim and allot him a two-bedroom house.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao came to the rescue of an aged person who was waiting for him on the roadside, on Thursday. Mr Rao stopped his convoy and spoke to Mohammed Salim, who told him that he was ailing and in need of help.

Mr Rao was returning from a private programme at Toli Chowki when he found Mr Salim standing with a memorandum in his hand. Mr Rao stopped the convoy, got down from his car and went to Mr Salim.

He told the CM that he was a driver and for the past nine years has been suffering from ailments. He broke his leg four years ago when he fell from a building and his son was not well. He had no house of his own and was in dire straits, Mr Salim told Mr Rao.

Mr Rao immediately instructed Hyderabad collector Shwetha Mohanty to release disability pension to Mr Salim and allot him a two-bedroom house.

The collector went to Mr Salim’s house in Toli Chowki and made inquiries. Since Mr Salim already had a disability certificate, the collector sanctioned pension on the spot. A 2BHK house at Jiya was also sanctioned to Mr Salim.

Collector Shewtha Mohanty promised that Mr Salim’s medical expenses will be borne by the government and his son will be provided financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
