Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president P.S. Sreedharan Pillai on Wednesday demanded registration of sedition case against the CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan if he failed to publicly apologise for insulting “national emotions”.

At a press conference here, Mr Pillai asked the CPM’s central leadership to clarify ifthey approved of Mr Kodyeri’s statement. He said the CPM state secretary had expressed doubts over Pulwama attacks and had alleged that these could have been stage-managed in view of forthcoming general elections.

The BJP leader said the CPM leader had made wild allegations at a time when the entire nation is united in fighting the aggression from across the border and attacks of Pakistan backed by terrorists in the Jammu and Kashmir valley.

The entire Opposition including the CPM had extended full support to the Central government at the all party meeting held in New Delhi to brief about the action taken by Indian Air Force.

The BJP state president said the CPM was trying to politicise the issue by making wild allegations.
