Rahul Gandhi corners Modi over Naga Peace Accord

'You must ask Modi that when the Naga Peace Accord was made, why the people of Manipur were not consulted or spoken to?' he said.

Imphal: Launching a frontal attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday alleged that the former did not even discuss about the Naga Peace Accord with Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh.

"Prime Minister Modi didn't even talk to CM Ibobi Singh. The ministers are not aware of what is there in Naga Accord. It is all in PM Modi's mind," Gandhi said while addressing a rally in Imphal.

"You must ask Modi that when the Naga Peace Accord was made, why the people of Manipur were not consulted or spoken to? Till date, no one knows what is there in this pre-paid accord," he added.

The Naga Peace Accord was signed in 2015 by the Government of India and the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) in Modi's presence.

Elections for the 60-member Manipur assembly are slated for March 4 and 8.
