Hyderabad: The brutal killing of B. Srinivas, husband of Nalgonda municipal chairperson B. Lakshmi, took a new turn on Saturday with TRS leaders demanding a judicial probe and accusing Congress leaders of being behind the murder.
Speaking to mediapersons, TRS MLC Karne Prabhakar and MLA Gadari Kishore Kumar denied the allegation of Congress leaders that Srinivas was killed by Nakrekal TRS MLA Vemula Veresam and his henchmen.
They said Congress leaders showing old photographs of the murder suspects with the MLA was not legally tenable; they had also taken photographs with Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy a number of times.
The TRS leaders said the murder accused — Rambabu, Mallesh and Sharath — were Congress workers and were close associates of Mr Venkat Reddy, and alleged that it must have been the handiwork of the Congress MLA. Mr Prabhakar and Mr Kumar said they were ready for any probe.
The TRS legislators also demanded that the police trace out the call list of Srinivas for the last six months to find out whom he had been in touch with, to bring the real culprits to book.
“Srinivas had a criminal history and he was like a snake. It was Komatireddy Venkat Reddy who pampered him all through,” Mr Prabhakar alleged.
