Congress abdicates opposition role: K Muraleedharan

Muraleedharan criticized that Congress leaders are not taking initiatives for a protest or strike but engaged in issuing statements only.

Kozhikode: Congress leader K. Muraleedharan has come down heavily on senior Congress leaders slamming that neither Congress nor UDF is the opposition in Kerala. “CPM is both the ruling front and opposition here. Congress failed to tap on the failures of the government,” he said at the K. Karunakaran commemorative function here on Monday.

Muraleedharan criticized that Congress leaders are not taking initiatives for a protest or strike but engaged in issuing statements only. “Leaders are competing to make an appearance in channels. No one is bothered in strengthening the party in grass root level,” he noted. In the issue of Minister M.M Mani, Congress leaders are hesitant to take out a full-fledged protest. It was the failure of leaders which separated the minorities and resulted in the failure in assembly election, Murali reminded.
