Congress will need thrice state's budget for its promises: Kishan

Hyderabad: BJP state president and Union minister G. Kishan Reddy on Monday said the Congress would need three times the current Budget to implement all their guarantees. Half the Congress candidates were being funded by money collected from builders and IT companies in Karnataka.

Addressing the media Kishan Reddy said, “Having failed to implement their promises in Karnataka, how can they implement them here? There can’t be a more brazen misuse of money than publishing advertisements about them here in Telangana.”

“I request the people to be wary of the Congress and the BRS while voting, and vote with discretion. With the Congress having ruled for decades and the BRS for the last 10 years they should be talking about their track record to seek votes. The BJP on the other hand is going ahead with its agenda which is grounded in reality. We are not giving promises we can’t implement,” he said.

Raising objection to the bid to increase Muslim reservations he said, “The BRS and Congress are promising to raise the reservation to 12 per cent from four per cent. But they can’t implement this unconstitutional promise which is against the high court verdict. If they are interested in the welfare of Muslims why did they not develop the Old City? The metro train was stopped at Afzalgunj itself. The AIMIM is not interested in the welfare of Muslims. Why is the literacy rate low in the Old City? Why did they not use the leverage they have with Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to get good educational institutions in the Old City? How can they promise an IT park for Muslims exclusively in Pahadishareef?”

Answering queries, the BJP state chief said he is ready for an open debate with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on all issues. Both BRS and Congress don’t talk about AIMIM and the BJP will fight against the family parties. The AIMIM is serving as a middleman between the BRS and Congress. PCC president Revanth Reddy is contesting in Kamareddy to split anti-BRS votes and help the BRS candidate defeat the BJP candidate Venkataramana Reddy. We will change the name of Hyderabad to Bhagyanagar once we come to power, he said, adding frustration is evident in the face of Chandrashehar Rao for not being able to make his son K.T. Rama Rao the Chief Minister.
