Kakinada: BC welfare minister Ch. Srinivasa Venugopalakrishna said backward classes in the state are getting ready to defeat Telugu Desam in coming elections, as they have understood that they had been cheated by former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Speaking to media at Ramachandrapuram in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district on Sunday, he said the caste census ordered by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will be the most useful for BCs. This will also lead to the defeat of Telugu Desam and its chief Chandrababu Naidu.
The minister said knowing this fact, TD and its yellow media are campaigning against the caste census. He maintained that the caste census is being conducted as per guidance of the union government, which has permitted all states to conduct the caste census. He pointed out that Bihar has already completed its caste census.
He said whatever the propaganda TD and its media launch against the ruling party and government schemes, people are not going to believe them.
