Nara Lokesh may contest from Kuppam

However, people of Kalyanadurgam are sympathetic to him.

ANANTAPUR: Speculation is rife over Chief Minister and TD supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu’s plans to contest from another segment in the state as he wants to provide an opportunity for his son Nara Lokesh on the home turf of Kuppam.

APCC chief N. Raghuveera Reddy hails from the Madakasira segment which was reserved for SCs during the delimitation process. He contested from the Penukonda segment in the last elections and was defeated in a triangular fight. However, people of Kalyanadurgam are sympathetic to him.

In view of a possible alliance between the Telugu Desam and Congress, Mr Naidu hopes that the additional strength in Kalyanadurgam can ensure that the YSRC will not give a fitting fight to him.

As film star and Naidu’s brother-in-law Nandamuri Balakrishna is already representing the Hindupur Assembly segment, party seniors suggest that the CM concentrate on the Kalyanadurgam segment.
