Chennai: Veteran actor Kamal Haasan, who is all set to launch his own political party, remains non-committal on taking a plunge by contesting the R.K. Nagar byelection.

The actor who returned from New Delhi after attending a literary event, declined to take questions from the media on Sunday. As he emerged out of the airport here, journalists attempted to raise several questions, including if he or his supporters would contest in the byelection.

Kamal, however, responded to a query on the symbol of his proposed political party. He had already stated that he would make an announcement soon, replied. During a discussion at the Times Delhi Lit Fest on Saturday he had said, “We are being over-sensitive. I am saying so in capacity of being an Indian. In a country where politicians wanted citizens to come upfront in the past. That doesn’t mean I am dismissing off a whole group of people. There are enough Kamals, not enough podiums.”
