The TRS handed over the responsibility to ministers T. Harish Rao, Gangula Kamalakar, Koppula Eshwar

KARIMNAGAR: With just a few hours left for the election campaigning to come to an end, leaders of three major political parties kept themselves busy in intense electioneering in the poll-bound Huzurabad on Tuesday.

Candidates of three major political parties - Etala Rajendar from BJP, Gellu Srinivas Yadav from the TRS and Dr. Balmuri Venkat Narasing Rao from the Congress - along with 27 independent candidates stepped up election campaigning with their star campaigners and are leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters.

Rajendar started reaching out to every section of people in the constituency ever since he resigned from the TRS and the state Cabinet five months ago and even took out padayatra in the name of ‘Praja Deevana Yatra’ for a few days in the beginning. Being a six-time MLA and two-time minister, Rajendar has a strong cadre in every village.

Union ministers G. Kishan Reddy, Nithyananda Roy, BJP state chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar, OBC national Chairman K. Laxman, former Maharashtra Governor Vidya Sagar Rao, BJP national secretary P. Muralidhar Rao, former MPs Jithendar Reddy, Vivek Venkata Swamy, MLA Raghunandan Rao, former MLAs Enugu Ravinder Reddy, Bodiga Shoba, Babu Mohan and Dharma Rao, former ZP chairperson Tula Uma, Vijayashanti and D. The TRS lured Opposition leaders Padi Koushik Reddy and Swargam Ravi from the Congress and Enugala Peddi Reddy from BJP along with L. Ramana from Telugu Desam Party (TDP) into its fold.

The TRS leadership which took the Huzurabad byelection as a prestige issue handed over the responsibility to finance minister T. Harish Rao and civil supplies minister Gangula Kamalakar along with welfare minister Koppula Eshwar.

It also appointed MLAs, chairmen of various corporations and local public representatives as mandal in-charges and intensified poll campaign. The leaders tried to reach the maximum number of voters by visiting every household in the constituency.

Meanwhile, the Congress which announced its candidature Dr. B. Venkat Narasing Rao intensified its poll campaigning to give tough fight to the BJP and the TRS. It appointed in-charges to five mandals in the constituency and involved star campaigners.

TPCC chief Revanth Reddy, senior leaders Damodar Rajanarasimha, T. Jeevan Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, D. Sridhar Babu, Seethakka, and others are striving hard for Venkat Narasing Rao’s win in the bypoll.
