K Chandrasekhar Rao turns focus on TRS

Each district to have party chief to make it stronger.

Hyderabad: Reorganisation of districts done, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has now turned his focus on strengthening the TS in the districts and scouting for new party chiefs.

TRS sources said that Mr Rao was consulting ministers, legislators and senior party leaders over the selection of district party chiefs.

Mr Rao had been busy with T-movement and then with formation of government and had not focused much on strengthening the party. Now, he is trying to identify leaders who are able to handle the TRS district units and fulfil its aims and objectives.

“KCR is consulting ministers and party seniors in each district for strengthening district units. He is scouting for new district chiefs. Barring a couple, all new districts will have new chiefs,” a senior TRS leader told DC, adding that the process has begun.

Asked whether legislators will also be considered for district party chief post, he replied in the affirmative. Mr Rao is keen to complete restructuring of district committees by Diwali and give the chosen ones the posts as a festival gift.

“KCR has already named many senior leaders who actively participated in the T-movement and stood by him, for nominated posts. He wants a three tier system in the party from state to mandal-level,” said another TRS leader.
