Samineni to sue Pattabhiram for drug-abuse' remarks on son
Vijayawada: Government whip Samineni Udaya Bhanu came down heavily against Telugu Desam leader K. Pattabhiram for ‘falsely accusing’ his son of being involved in drugs and said that he would file a defamation case against the opposition leader. If the charges were proved he would be ready for any investigation, he said.
Speaking to the media here on Sunday, he agreed for a medical examination of his son, provided N. Chandrababu Naidu, Bhuvaneswari, Lokesh and his wife Brahmani also get tested for drug abuse.
Bhanu said that Pattabhiram has no moral right to speak about his family. He clarified that his family is not involved in any irregularities and it has no connection with the ganja that was seized in Nalgonda. He said that, on the contrary, there were several instances wherein heroin was supplied through Heritage milk packets and people were aware of Lokesh’s lavish lifestyle and his parties.
Refuting the allegations that YSRC leaders are involved in sand mafia and were sidetracking PDS rice, he said that the transparent governance of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy leaves no scope to anyone to indulge in corrupt practices. Those who do are dealt with sternly, he said.
