BJP planting stories on Congress: Dinesh Gundurao
Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, Dinesh Gundurao on Monday caustically remarked that someone from the BJP might be planting stories about the Congress party just to divert media attention from real issues.
He was reacting to a query about a possible change of guard in the KPCC as well as leader of the opposition in the state.
Speaking to reporters here, Mr Rao angrily remarked that the media seems to be falling for stories being planted by BJP leaders. "Every week, they are writing about someone or the other coming from Delhi to convene a meeting to replace me or Mr Siddaramaiah. I am confident that these stories are not generated from the Congress but by the BJP. Ever since, Mr B.S. Yediyurappa was sworn in as the CM, these stories have become a regular feature in the media," he said.
According to him, the Congress party has followed certain procedures for the last several decades be it appointment of the new KPCC president or leader of the opposition. "Top leaders are busy dealing with the scenario after abrogation of Article 370. Our leaders focus more on issues concerning the people rather than any leader. Don't worry, everything will settle down and nothing will go without your notice," he retorted.
Answering a a question on the Congress party's trouble shooter, Ghulam Nabi Azad's ‘arrival,’ Mr Rao snapped that till now, nobody from New Delhi had confirmed this to him.
