Mysuru: A section of BJP workers here, who are upset over  state BJP chief, B S Yeddyurappa's son, B Y Vijayendra being denied a party ticket from Varuna, have reportedly begun a NOTA (None of the above) campaign against the present BJP candidate for the constituency.

They have allegedly been circulating a WhatsApp message among the people of Varuna  saying," If there are 25,000 NOTAs in a constituency, there has to be a re -election and the candidates targeted cannot contest for ten years." Pamphlets too are being distributed telling the people that if they want to enjoy the freedom of choosing a candidate of their own then they must opt for NOTA.

They go on to say that NOTA was needed to smash the egos of senior leaders Ananthkumar and Santhosh, (who allegedly worked against Mr Vijayendra) for disappointing sincere BJP party workers. The pamphlets  also point out that when Mr Vijayendra was heading to file his nomination, there was a crowd of over 40,000 to 50,000 but when the BJP candidate went to file his, there were only six people around.

Had the two BJP seniors taken money to ensure the victory of CM  Siddaramaiah's son from Varuna or did they fear the emergence of Mr Vijayendra as a young leader in the footsteps of his father, they ask.

"Did you not realise that changing the candidate for Varuna would affect nine other constituencies in Mysuru and Chamarajnagar?" they demand. The pamphlets are  being posted by some on their Facebook pages as well.
