Lallesh Reddy to rock Ramalinga Reddy's seat
Bengaluru: Lallesh Reddy, a close relative of mining baron turned politician, Gali Janardhan Reddy, who has been fielded by the BJP from BTM Layout, is expected to give a tough fight to sitting MLA and Home Minister, R Ramalinga Reddy these coming assembly polls .
An MBA holder and a realtor, Mr Lallesh Reddy says having been born andbrought up in Bengaluru ,he knows the problems of the city, especially that of BTM layout , like the back of his hand.
And he believes that Mr Janardhan Reddy's support will only help his prospects and encourage people to vote for him.
" False mining cases have been foisted against him and he was forced to cool his heels in jail. But he has not been convicted even in one case. People know this and so they will vote for me and the BJP," he asserts, also pointing out that he has several relatives, friends and well wishers in BTM layout, which could work to his advantage.
Aware of the area's shortcomings, he says it needs a complete makeover and this will be possible only if a new and young representative is given a chance to serve the constituency.
"Athough the constituency is said to be posh and upmarket it has huge problems with garbage, drains, pothole- ridden roads and encroachments," he notes.
The BJP too clearly sees him as a winnable candidate as its national president, Amit Shah, who despite saying the party would have nothing to do with Mr. Janardhan Reddy, accompanied Mr. Lallesh Reddy as he made his way to file his nomination papers recently for the coming poll.
