Pinarayi Vijayan takes a dig at Oommen Chandy
Kottayam: CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday said that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was trying to threaten Opposition Leader V.S. Achuthanandan by saying that he would file a case against him. Mr Pinarayi was speaking at the LDF election meeting held at Kuravilangadu.
“The Opposition Leader had raised the allegations which had come up earlier. T.H. Musthafa and Ramachandran Master, the colleagues of Oommen Chandy, had also raised similar allegations. Many charges were raised in the course of the last five years. Why the chief minister didn’t file cases then?” Mr Pinarayi asked.
Later, Mr Vijayan addressed a public meeting at Erattupetta and exhorted the public to vote for LDF candidate P.C. Joseph “who is upholding the values of secularism.” Alluding to Mr P.C. George, he said that the people’s representatives should keep decency. It was the second visit of Mr Vijayan to Poonjar.
