Narendra Modi on 6-day tour to Kerala from May 6

Besides the PM, BJP national president Amit Shah and the cream of the NDA cabinet will fly down to the state to canvas votes.

Thiruvananthapuram: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick-start his election campaign in the state from May 6. Mr Modi will take part in five rallies in the state till May 11. Besides the Prime Minister, BJP national president Amit Shah and the cream of the NDA cabinet will fly down to the state to canvas votes for BJP candidates.

This was announced by BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan at a press conference here on Tuesday attended by BDJS president Thushar Vellappally and Kerala Congress chairman P C Thomas. Amit Shah, who will be in the state on May 1, will also take part in five rallies. Mr Shah will be in the state till May 11. Home minister Rajnath Singh will be in the state during May 6 and 7. The itinerary of both the Prime Minister and the BJP president are yet to be finalised.

Urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu will hold campaign meetings during May 8 and 9. Human resource development minister Smriti Irani will be in the state on May 8. Law minister Sadananda Gowda, who will arrive in the estate on April 29, will be in the state till May 11.

Other ministers whose dates are yet to be confirmed but will come to the state are: Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Niramala Sitharaman, Manohar Parikkar, and Pon Radhakrishnan.
