YSRC MP throws challenge to suspended MLA

VIJAYAWADA: YSR Congress MP Nandigam Suresh on Sunday challenged suspended Tadikonda MLA Vundavalli Sridevi to ready herself for taking an oath that she did not do cross-voting in the recent MLA quota MLC elections.

“We are ready to prove the wrongdoing of the suspended legislators," Suresh said at a press meet here.

He said Sridevi never discharged her duties as an MLA in her Tadikonda constituency and she was not available to the public.

“Sridevi had in the past spoken out against Amaravati farmers but now she is speaking in support of them. It means she is moving in the direction of Chandrababu Naidu. We are giving utmost respect to Sridevi as a Dalit woman MLA. There is no threat to her life from YSRC but there is a big threat to her from TD as Chandrababu has weird ideas and TD is likely to harm her,” Suresh said.

Suresh asked whether Chandrababu ever gave priority to SCs in the grant of ministerial positions. “CM Jagan made two Dalit women as home ministers, showing his dedication towards Dalits’ welfare and development. The political fall of Sridevi has begun with the selling of her vote and this reminds us of the fate of 23 YSRC MLAs who joined Telugu Desam during the Chandrababu government’s time. The political future of those 23 was spoilt.”

Suresh refuted the allegations of Sridevi about the illegal sand business. The MP said he was ready for a narco-analysis test on this. He would write a letter to the DGP about the possible threat to Sridevi from Chandrababu Naidu and seek enhancement of her security, Suresh said.
