Bandi dares KCR to probe paddy issue

Bandi alleged that a few ministers and TRS MLAs were involved in irregularities in paddy procurement

HYDERABAD: BJP state president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar dared Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to order CBI inquiry over the paddy procurement issue. He alleged that a few ministers and TRS MLAs were involved in irregularities in paddy procurement.

Speaking to reporters at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Bhavan on Saturday, Sanjay Kumar alleged that Chandrashekar Rao brought up the paddy issue to divert attention of people from steep hike in power charges.

He said people would get hiked power bills in May. State ministers were blaming union minister Piyush Goyal over the paddy procurement issue, he said. Chandrashekar Rao should purchase the paddy stocks from the farmers, else leave his post, he said.

Sanjay said the Central government would not sell its share in the Singareni Collieries Company Limited. The TRS government was blaming the BJP over the Singareni issue, he said. “We will give clarity on Singareni soon,” he said and suggested that Rao realise his mistakes and tender apology to farmers over paddy procurement. He said the BJP would conduct state-wide agitation programmes against hike in power tariff.
