Mohan Babu joins YSRC

Actor says he will expose N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Hyderabad: Telugu film actor M. Mohan Babu on Tuesday joined the YSRC and is said to have offered to campaign in support for the party in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha polls.

Mohan Babu on Tuesday met YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at his Hyderabad residence.

Mohan Babu who operates educational institutions in AP was recently involved in a spat with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu over the delay in fee reimbursement. He had staged a highly publicised protest in front of his educational institutions.

According to Mohan Babu, the AP government owed his educational institutions `19 crore. The government had put the figure at about `6 crore.

His intention of joining the YSRC was not political, he said.

“Had I been chasing power, I would have done so when I was Rajya Sabha member,” he said.

Mohan Babu warned Mr Naidu that he would “expose” him if “provoked” by TD leaders.

Mohan Babu was formerly with the TD and was sent to the Rajya Sabha for one term in the 1990s.
