Edappadi K Palaniswami, OPS head AIADMK panels for co-operative polls
Chennai: The ruling AIADMK has formed a high level committee including Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and deputy CM O. Panneerselvam, as in-charge to make the party win in the upcoming elections for co-operative societies in Tamil Nadu.
While Mr Palaniswami, along with Venkatachalam MLA will take care of the party’s election work in Salem city and suburban districts, Mr Panneerselvam will be assisted by Theni district AIADMK secretary Syed Khan, in Theni area.
For Chennai, the team will be led by party’s presidium chairman E. Madhusudhanan and the committee would comprise of Fisheries Minister D. Jayakumar, former Ministers: B. Valarmathi and Gokula Indira and senior functionaries Vijayakumar MP, Rajesh, Venkatesh Babu, Virugai Ravi and Sathya (T. Nagar).
Similarly, election in-charge have been named for all districts in the State, for the elections which would be held next month to elect the office-bearers for various cooperative societies in Tamil Nadu. According to M. Rajendran, commissioner of Tamil Nadu State Co-operative Societies Election Commission, the elections would be held in five phases to fill up 18,775 vacancies in the Co-operative societies across Tamil Nadu.
