Telangana: TRS posts to continue for 4 years
Hyderabad: The TRS is going to amend its constitution to enhance the term of organisational positions to four years from the current one year.
This was informed to the party leaders by TRS chief and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday.
Under the present arrangement, elections for village, mandal and district committees are held before the election of the party president. After the election, the party chief nominates the state committee members.
Though Mr Rao was elected as the party president in the plenary held in Khammam last year, he did not appoint the state committee in the entire year and now the party is again scheduled to hold the organisational elections as per the party’s constitution.
The party is also planning to discard district committees and bring in Assembly segment wise committees. TRS chief said that Assembly segment panels would also involve local MLA as in-charge of the party affairs too.
