She entered the gallery soon after the House commenced at 10 am for Question Hour.

Hyderabad: Nizamabad MP and daughter of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, K. Kavitha, was the cynosure of all eyes in Telangana Legislative Assembly on Saturday.

Ms Kavitha visited the Assembly for the first time and watched the proceedings from the visitors’ gallery. She entered the gallery soon after the House commenced at 10 am for Question Hour.

Scores of activists of Telangana Jagruti, which is headed by Ms Kavitha, accompanied her. The MP sat in the front row for nearly two hours.

Legislature secretary Raja Sadaram came to the gallery to welcome her. Several TRS MLAs also came into the gallery and greeted her. Some ministers and MLAs too greeted her from the House when it was adjourned thrice.

However, with the House taking up no business due to pandemonium for nearly two hours, she left the Assembly. In between the adjournment breaks, TRS MLAs, including ministers, vied with each other to greet Ms Kavitha.

While IT minister and her brother K.T. Rama Rao greeted her from the House, Government Whip Gongidi Sunitha, Nizamabad rural MLA Bajireddy Goverdhan, Janagoan MLA Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy etc came to the gallery and greeted her.

Ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav, A. Indrakaran Reddy, Jupally Krishna Rao and women MLAs were among those who greeted Ms Kavitha from the House.

There were heated exchanges between Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and MIM Floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi in the House when Ms Kavitha was present.

When asked by the media about the purpose of her visit, she replied, “I came here to watch the Assembly proceedings, I stayed back for two hours after I came to know that the House would take up the debate on UoH incidents. I am upset that the debate did not take place.”

However, after she left, the House took up debate on UoH for nearly three hours.
