Committed to develop remote villages: Seethakka

Warangal: Panchayat raj minister D. Anasuya Seethakka said that the Congress government was committed to developing remote and agency areas like Kothaguda and Gangaram mandals in Mahabubabad district.

Speaking at a meeting held at Rythu Vedika in Kothaguda mandal on Tuesday, the minister directed the officials concerned to take steps to provide drinking water facilities in the remote villages facing acute shortage of water in the two mandals, she said.

“About 14,000 posts have been identified lying vacant in Anganwadi centres across the state. The government is taking necessary steps for filling all the vacancies apart from enhancing the salaries of Anganwadi workers,” said the minister, promising hassle-free sanction of funds for repair works of Anganwadis.

Collector Shashanka apprised the minister of training given for officials on the Praja Palana programme. By dividing into two teams, tahsildars and MPDOs will visit four villages daily and receive the applications from the people from noon to evening at 6 pm apart from conducting Grama Sabhas in village panchayats which would be informed beforehand.

Later, the minister distributed Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques to 24 beneficiaries.

Superintendent of Police, ITDA project officer Ankith, deputy director of tribal welfare department Yerraiah, executive engineer Hema Latha, and public representatives were present.
