Guntur Zilla Parishad chief takes back charge
Guntur: The political conflict between AP minister for social welfare R. Kishore Babu and Guntur zilla parishad chairperson Sk Johny Moon ended amicably on Sunday with the two declaring that misunderstandings between them had been cleared and they would work together to strengthen the party.
Ms Moon and Mr Kishore had levelled allegations against each other and held press conferences, each accusing the other of trying to destroy his/her career.
Annoyed that internal issues of the party were being displayed in public, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had directed the two politicians to resolve their differences and appointed a three-member committee to inquire into the matter.
AP Deputy Chief Minister N. China Rajappa, Guntur district TD president G.V. Anjaneyulu and TD state secretary G. Butchaiah Chowdary, who were appointed to the committee, planned to start their inquiry shortly.
Supporters of Ms Moon and the minister staged protests again on Friday where Ms Moon alleged that supporters of the minister attacked her house and threatened to kill her and that officials and party leaders had been told not to cooperate with her at official and party programmes. She alleged that the minister had intervened in the transfer of mandal level officers and had shifted officers without her consent and had stalled development for her native Kakumanu mandal.
Telugu Desam leaders then decided to settle the matter with immediate effect instead of waiting for an inquiry and summoned Ms Moon and Mr Kishore to the TD office at Guntur on Sunday morning.
Ministers Raghunatha Reddy, Pulla Rao and Anjaneyulu talked to the two groups and managed to resolve their differences.
At the press conference that followed, the two announced that their differences had been resolved. Ms Moon said that some rowdies had tried to attack her house and she misunderstood them as followers of Mr Kishore Babu. She said that differences rose due to misunderstandings and now all the problems have been cleared so they will work together and follow the party decision.
She alleged that the YSRC was trying to create differences among TD leaders by highlighting religion, which is highly objectionable and vowed to continue with the TD.
Mr Kishore Babu said that due to a communication gap he had neglected some issues but now all differences had been cleared. He said that Ms Johny Moon was like his daughter and her husband Abdul Gaffar was like his son-in-law and they will work like a family in the TD.
He alleged that the YSRC was trying to malign the TD by creating unnecessary differences among the leaders.
