Dy CM KE Krishna Murthy's remarks put CMO on toes
Vijayawada: Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishna Murthy’s remarks on the Chief Minister’s ‘disinclination’ towards sanctioning industries and granting funds to the Rayalaseema region, particularly to Kurnool district, have prompted the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) to collect the exact details related to the projects, industries and grants allotted in the last two years.
The CM has directed the secretaries concerned to prepare a detailed report about the grounded projects in Kurnool district and also in the region.
State TD president Kala Venkata Rao has been entrusted the responsibility of troubleshooter and asked to sort out the issues with K.E. Krishna Murthy.
In fact, the Deputy Chief Minister and minister for revenue K.E. Krishna Murthy’s sensational comments on CM N. Chandrababu Naidu have raised eyebrows of CM’s true loyalists in the Cabinet and immediately they have rushed to Mr Naidu, asking him to address the issue.
Reportedly, the Chief Minister has told them that he wants to know the statistics related to development works taken up in Rayalaseema.
Mr Krishna Murthy’s grouse is that the CM is not even coming to lay foundation stones for the development projects in Kurnool city. He reminisced that he had good intimacy with former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao and used to have all info about sanctioning of projects. “But now, the situation is different. Our boss Naidu thinks a lot before taking a decisoin,” he said.
In fact, Mr Krishna Murthy has been expressing displeasure over the intervention of a young leader in his ministry to the Chief Minister several times but there has been no use.
Mr Murthy said the district officials convinced farmers to give land for industries and several other projects. When the same thing was apprised to the CM, he just simply said that Kurnool was given a 1,000-MW electricity project, he recalled.
The Deputy CM is annoyed over no encouragement for investments from foreign countries as well.
