We did more for Telangana than Congress, says Amit Shah
Hyderabad: Calling All India Congress Committee president Rahul Gandhi by the somewhat tired cliché, ‘Rahul Baba’, the BJP national president Amit Shah said that the BJP has done more for Telangana than the Congress did when it was at the centre.
Addressing a public meeting at Dubbak, Mr Shah said, “Rahul Baba who is touring Telangana should remember that the Congress government in the centre has only given Rs 16,000 crore for the development of Telangana, while Mr Narendra Modi has given Rs 2.3 lakh crore. In which Rs 1.5 lakh crore is in the form of development and another Rs 1.5 lakh crore in the form of various schemes. More than 4.5 lakh women have gained free gas connections under Ujwal Yojana scheme.”
Taking about the Mahakutami, he said that the Communist party is losing its presence globally and the Congress has almost lost its presence country wide.
He harked back to the old issue of former prime minister, the late Narsimha Rao. He said “Mr Rahul Gandhi, who is showing his love for Telangana, should answer why the Congress party has insulted former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao even after his death.”
He added, “The UPA government failed to control the trespassing of the terrorists into our land. But, Mr Narendra Modi has replied to them with a surgical strike. India is proud to have a Prime Minister like Narendra Modi. Which ever the country Mr Narendra Modi visits, the airports there will be witnessing crowds chanting Modi’s name. It’s not the respect given to Modi or not the respect given to BJP, it’s the respect given to 125 crore people of India.”
