Remove TRS sops at own peril, T Harish Rao warns Congress
Hyderabad: Caretaker irrigation minister T. Harish Rao on Sunday criticised the Congress for saying that it would discontinue the welfare schemes introduced by the TRS. He said people would banish the Congress for such comments.
Mr Harish Rao was addressing a gathering in Siddipet Assembly constituency. He also lambasted the BJP and said the saffron party would not get back its deposits in the upcoming election.
While slamming UPA chief Sonia Gandhi, Mr Harish Rao said that she had a step-motherly attitude towards Telangana state and was more worried about Andhra Pradesh. He said, “They say they would discontinue schemes like Shadi Mubarak and Rythu Bandhu if they come to power. Has the Congress ever given at least Rs 10,000 to help farmers marry off their daughters?”
Mr Harish Rao caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has become the saviour of farmers by introducing Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bhima welfare schemes. He claimed that by next monsoon, Narasapur Cheruvu will get water from Kaleswaram and if voted to power, the TRS would allocate one double bedroom house for every poor family in the village, besides a grant of Rs 5 lakh each to those who have lands for constructing houses.
Mr Harish Rao also promised sops like concretising every road and by-lane in Narsapur village, constructing setting up graveyard for the SC community, providing Rs 3,000 financial assistance to unemployed youth, enhancing Asara pension from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000, generating employment for women and providing direct loans of Rs 10,000 to the SC community.
