Congress top leaders to campaign in Telangana for a week before polling

Hyderabad: Congress big guns such as Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Chief Ministers of four Congress ruled states will camp in Telangana state for a week prior to polling on November 30.

With the Assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh ending on November 23, all the top national-level Congress leaders will concentrate their focus on Telangana state for a week until the last day of campaigning on November 28.

Telangana state is going for Assembly polls along with Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram in November.

The polling in Mizoram will be held on November 7, in Chhattisgarh in two phases on November 7 and 17, Madhya Pradesh on November 17 and Rajasthan on November 23. However, the campaigning in Rajasthan will end on November 21.

The Congress top-level national leaders will be busy with campaigning in all these four states till November 21. After November 21, the electioneering will continue only in Telangana. The Congress top leaders want to utilise the opportunity to lay entire focus in Telangana from November 22 to November 28, which will be the last day for campaigning in Telangana.

The party leadership feels that the presence of the likes of top leaders for a week in Telangana before polling on November 30 like Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Kharge, CMs of Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh, will boost the morale of Telangana party leaders and cadre and further improve the winning prospects of the party.

The top leaders will address public meetings and roadshows covering all the districts in the final week before polling and end the campaigning in Telangana on a strong note.
