BRS MLA, BJP MLA Aspirant Trade Blows On Live TV

Hyderabad: A live TV debate turned ugly with BRS Quthbullapur MLA K.P. Vivekanand, who is also the Assembly candidate from that constituency, physically attacking the BJP’s Kuna Srisailam Goud, MLA contestant from the same constituency.

Both the politicians accused each other of land-grabbing and when Goud slammed Vivekanand saying that his father is also land-grabber, Vivekanand barged toward Goud and caught him by the scruff of his neck, following which, the police intervened and tried to bring the situation under control.

The situation turned chaotic with members of both the political parties rushing to the stage, crashing barricades, throwing chairs, and raising slogans.

BJP leaders condemned the attack on their party member. “I request police officials to register a case against the BRS MLA and investigate, otherwise we will approach the court,” said Union minister and state BJP chief G. Kishan Reddy. He also alleged BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his party MLAs of grabbing lands.

Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh also condemned the incident and said that the attack by KP Vivekanand shows BRS leaders frustration and arrogance.

BJP spokesperson N.V. Subhash said that, BRS candidate stooped down to a physical attack as they are unable to digest the fact that they are will be defeated.
