TD women wing says no law and order in Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada: TD women wing – Telugu Mahila – AP president Vangalapudi Anitha on Tuesday accused Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of utterly failing in maintaining law and order in the state. In particular, she went on to blame him for failing to protect girls and women in AP.

“State has registered 45,000 cases of attacks against girls and women in past three and a half years. On an average, 49 cases of atrocities against women are being reported daily. This clearly indicates commitment of Jagan Mohan Reddy towards safety of women,” Anitha remarked.

She maintained that 17 cases of atrocities against women have been reported from all parts of the state within past 20 days.

''But till now the Chief Minister has not opened his mouth on these crimes,” she observed.

Anitha feels that the Mahila Commission, which had been formed when TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu had been the chief minister, is now acting as “Jagan Commission."

She alleged that the present Mahila Commission chairperson Vasireddy Padma has not responded to various atrocities against women, but reacts sharply when someone criticises family members of Jagan Mohan Reddy.
